Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
"This is wonderfully fruited and gloriously fragrant on the nose showing crème de cassis, dark cherry, dark chocolate and cedar characters with a touch of tobacco complexity. It’s concentrated and intensely flavoured on the palate with excellent density and depth, brilliantly supported by fine texture and chalky tannins. Sturdy and firm yet balanced and silky. At its best: now to 2030." *95 points* - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
2017 was an incredible year in terms of weather, quantity and quality of all types of fruit. Vintage threatened to finish early, before a cool damp spell gave way to an Indian summer, which extended the season and improved the quality and flavour of subsequent wine.
Sourced from selected Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards located in the premium growing area of Barossa Valley.
Fruit was fermented on skins for seven days. Following pressing, clarification and blending, the wine was matured in French oak hogsheads for 12 months prior to bottling.
This is a superb accompaniment to beef, rich game dishes or a good cheddar cheese.
