Peeping Tom 2018 Shiraz
"It’s sweetly fruited and delightfully perfumed, showing dark plum, mulberry, anise and vanillin oak characters on the nose. It’s plump and succulent on the palate, delivering fleshy texture and wonderful fruit purity, gorgeously complemented by supple mouthfeel and polished tannins. At its best: now to 2030." *94 points* - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
2018 vintage was labelled an amazing vintage, with superb conditions and fruit of outstanding quality was harvested. A cold winter delivered good dormancy. The yields were moderate, and the slow cool ripening was very even, delivering fruit with fine tannins and strong varietal flavours. Grapes produced were of outstanding quality with good colour, balanced tannins and good fruit weight.
Our Shiraz is sourced from premium Coonawarra vineyards surrounding the winery.
Fermented & macerated on skins for up to 10 days, with some partial barrel fermentation. Following pressing, clarification and blending, the wine was matured on American oak for 12 months prior to bottling.
Perfect with roast beef, grilled steak and hearty casseroles such as braised oxtail or lamb shanks.
This rich and powerful Coonawarra Shiraz displays vibrant ripe red fruit flavours with cool climate Shiraz spice. The round and soft palate with lingering ripe tannins and subtle American oak flavours will reward immediate enjoyment.
