Dona Shiraz Grenache 2018
Dona Shiraz Grenache
Ripe dark plums and red cherries with hints of dried herbs, cinnamon and white pepper spices. Medium bodied wine with soft tannins and a fruity drive on the palate for that lasting impression.
Region: McLaren Vale, South Australia
Varietal: 90% Shiraz 10% Grenache
Analysis: Alcohol 14.5%
"Enticing aromas of dark and purple fruits with violet, hazelnut and mixed spice notes lead to a succulent palate offering excellent fruit purity and perfume. It's richly textured and generously expressed with beautiful balance and structure, finishing fruit-forward and silky."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"An appealing maroon in colour, this is a deeper, more burly and intense style with fuller flavours than the ‘Dona’ GSM (the fact that they are from different vintages might also contribute to this). Black fruits, leather, cloves and chocolate to the fore here. Good concentration, firm tannins and excellent length. More liquorice notes emerged on the palate and especially black cherry notes. Delicious now, but it really needs four to six years to really peak. Good luck keeping your hands off it."
